Tell us about the role that faith plays in your life — or doesn’t. – by the Daily Prompt

Faith’s role in mine and my family’s lives mean dropping everything to spend Christmas eve and Christmas day in the hospital to be with a sick family member. And having the strength to still laugh and be thankful that we are together during this time in spite of the thought that things can go from bad to worse.

It means seeing him days later get up and get out of the hospital for a few hours just to be present in his grandson’s birthday. Or knowing that during those few hours, he didn’t think of himself but instead made sure that those who rely on him have food on their table.

It is there in his tired eyes, in the pain he carries, in his touch and in the way he still try to smile. In times like these, he is one of our reasons to be faithful.

Together on Christmas eve.
Together on Christmas eve.
